Imagine if the man we call Jesus were to make another appearance on Earth in the not too distant future. What would people do? How would they react? In this day of world-wide media coverage, and the instant celebrity culture, how would people respond?
Would the powers that be, in authority, politics, religion, the media, etc., afford him the respect he deserves?
Would he be recruited for the next Big Brother challenge or I'm a Celebrity, Get Me out of Here.
Would he feel obliged to get some tattoos and wear the latest designer labels and huge amounts of bling just to get some credibility.
Would he be more revered than Royalty?
Would he be taken seriously?
Could you imagine the various Archbishops, Arch Deacons, Mullahs, Popes, Cardinals, Prelates, Primates and all the other religious leaders with a vested interest, relinquishing their influence and power to someone that, even now, they don't really understand.
Can you imagine that anyone would believe that he was who he said he was?
OK, so maybe in this enlightened age we might not crucify him. Not in the physical sense, anyway.
Not if he were selective about where he appeared.
Do you think he would consider his last visit was either justified or successful.
Do you think he would be satisfied that his sacrifice was worth it?
Well, do you?
I don't think so.
Each element of the Crucifix is represente by electric lights. The Crown of Thorns uses flashing ice blue Christmas Tree decorations, the spear and nail wounds are depicted using static red bulbs and the Cross and halo uses a continuously flashing disco rope light.
